Job Description

Lamers Bus Lines is hiring a full-time maintenance technician for its school bus fleet. This is hands-on work — replacing windows, mirrors, lights, and other exterior components — and a great way to start a career in vehicle maintenance with a company that’s been part of the Wisconsin community since 1944.

Note: This position will work temporarily in the Freedom terminal while tornado rebuilding continues at Menasha terminal.

Why Work with Us?

  • Competitive Pay: Pay that matches your skills and effort.
  • Career Advancement: We promote from within — this role is a foot in the door.
  • Team Environment: Work alongside a supportive, hands-on crew.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Health, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, PTO, and more.
  • Join a company with a long-standing reputation for excellence since 1944.

What You’ll Do

  • Replace and repair windows, mirrors, and other exterior bus components.
  • Assist with general body and light repairs as part of our fleet recovery effort.
  • Perform basic inspections to spot damage needing repair.
  • Keep accurate records of repairs completed.
  • Work as part of a team on fleet restoration projects.

What We’re Looking For

  • Comfort working with hand tools and basic equipment. Must have your own basic set of tools.
  • Willingness to learn and work on your feet.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to obtain a CDL.
  • Safety-conscious and team-oriented mindset.

Perks & Benefits

  • Health & Wellness: Health, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability options.
  • Financial Security: 401(k) with company match, FSA and HSA options.
  • Work-Life Balance: Paid holidays and PTO.
  • Professional Development: On-the-job training with room to grow into more advanced maintenance roles.

Why Lamers Bus Lines?
At Lamers, we take pride in keeping our fleet safe and reliable for the communities we serve. We’re a family-oriented, team-focused company where your effort and input are valued — and right now, we need hands-on help getting our buses back on the road.

Lamers Bus Lines is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE/AA).
